Fall

See the leaves fall from the darkening trees

a sign change is coming.

Grey skies

wispy clouds

and a soft message from the deep inside

coming from the invisible postman.

Listen carefully

and catch the leaves as they fall.

Help the fledgling bird through a tough day;

it’s mother abandon

and a home lost to the wind.

Look carefully

and catch the leaves as they blow

Into the frightening night.
